The Preceptor Program at Life West allows for senior interns to complete their clinical requirements for graduation under the supervision of a licensed practicing chiropractor, affording students incredible real-world experience prior to graduation.
And we continue to run the most robust, in-the-field education experience for chiropractic students
Historically, students would graduate from chiropractic school having hit all the academic and clinical benchmarks, yet still not really know how or where they wanted to practice, who they wanted to serve, or really even where to start to figure it out! As such, they’d spend their first few months to years bouncing around figuring it out, before settling into something that worked for them.
With the Life West’s Preceptor Program, students can move through that “figuring it out” phase while in the safety of the school bubble, broadening and solidifying their foundation prior to graduation, so that it’s super solid by the time they officially graduate.
Through the Preceptor Program, students can spend their final year of school in preceptorship, completing their academic coursework online, and interning in licensed chiropractors’ offices. During preceptorship, interns have the opportunity to explore practicing in different cities, states and countries, practicing different techniques, different business models, serving different patient populations. Students can truly figure out their best service in chiropractic while honing their skills and completing clinical requirements for graduation.
The Life West education model is anchored by our Clinically Inspired Learning curriculum and our Preceptorship Program is the culmination of that approach. Your goal as a student is to graduate “practice ready”.
